Salem Christmas, 2010

Christmas baking started on Tuesday with Megan, Chase and Jennifer coming over. Since I have two ovens now, it meant baking everything much faster. We made 9 different types of candy, cookies and bars (not all shown).

The following pictures show family members with their gifts.

Warrenton for the weekend

The gang that spent the weekend together.

Practicing glider skills before climbing the column.

We climbed to the top of the Astoria Column (169 steps) and dropped the balsa gliders we had purchased at the gift store. Great fun to see where they might end up.

We celebrated Andrew's 30th birthday.

Chase sees a bird.

I hope everytime we go to the beach that we'll see a beautiful sunset.

Fun in the Sun (at Grandma's)

Chase spent the morning with me so his mom and dad could work in their garden. We walked down the hill to Walker Middle School where Herm was doing Dream Center. Chase fell asleep and slept for about 45 minutes. When he woke up, we were in the gym where the kids were decorating cookies for their moms. He sat on my lap the whole time (but that was OK with me). When we got back home, I made him lunch, and afterwards, I propped the door open so he could come and go out to the deck. It was 70 degrees today, so we all enjoyed the weather.

February, 2010

Chase takes some of his first steps.

Chase gets to lick his first set of beaters (at our house, anyway). He didn't really know what to do with them, but I'm sure that will all change as he gets more opportunities.

Fun with Molly

Sometimes when you introduce a baby to a dog, you wonder how well it will go. We were so pleased that our dog, Molly, seems willing to let Chase do pretty much whatever he wants. When Molly needs a break, she leaves the room.

First birthday party

Chase turned one year old on Feb. 11, and we enjoyed
watching him eat his birthday cake (quite neatly, I thought)

Herm & I gave Chase an easel. Megan (math teacher) is writing
math equasions to get him started.
